The Lake Bluff Park District and the Lake Bluff Library have announced their closure, effective 6:30 p.m. Friday, March 13, to help combat the spread of coronavirus.
Additionally, all village meetings are canceled until further notice.
These closures are not due to confirmed cases of coronavirus in Lake Bluff and are not at the request of any county, state, or federal agency.
“These measures are not driven by fear or panic, but by the recognition that these incremental actions will protect the most vulnerable members of our community,” said Kathleen O’Hara, Village President.
The Center for Disease Control currently recommends caution for persons aged 60 and older and those with underlying medical conditions. These people should consider staying at home and should avoid public gathering and travel. About one-quarter of Lake Bluff’s population falls into these categories.
Trash pickup and emergency response will not be impacted, and polling places will be open Tuesday, March 17 for the primary election.
