The Lake Forest summer league varsity baseball team played a two-and-a-half hour marathon home game on July 8 against Niles West.

A combined 33 runs were scored in only six innings. The game was then called due to Lake Forest’s Legion team’s game on the field, otherwise there may have been more runs.

But the way both teams were scoring, it wasn’t surprising that as the last team to bat the Scouts scored four runs in the last inning, coming back to win 17-16 when Ryan Chandler scored on a wild pitch.
