The Lake Forest football team’s win at Lake Zurich Friday, Oct. 16, was huge for several reasons.

It was the Scouts’ first win there in coach Chuck Spagnoli’s tenure which began in 2003.

The 21-20 North Suburban Lake conference triumph also made Lake Forest (5-3, 2-3) playoff eligible and snapped the Bears’ streak of 13 consecutive playoff seasons.

In a wild finish, the Scouts’ victory wasn’t secure until almost the very end.
