Lake Forest fought a strong Stevenson squad May 5 at home, beating the visitors 1-0, and winning the North Suburban Conference Lake Division.

It needed the win along with a Mundelein win or tie against Lake Zurich in order to take the division title, and that game indeed ended in a draw.

Days later, the Scouts ran over the Lakes Community Eagles, 3-0, to take the conference title, too. Defending last year’s 2A state championship title is possible, and it’ll take a stepped-up level of play as the Scouts showed in this most recent game.
