Jon J. Kerr, a Lake Forest High School alumnus and former football player, wrote “The Boys in Brown,” which hit bookstores Sept. 1. The book is a firsthand account of Kerr shadowing the Carmel High School football team in the 2010 season.

Kerr received his bachelor’s degree from Michigan State after attending the University of Missouri for two years. He is a freelance sports journalist.
