In Memoriam: Albrecht, O'Brien, Peterson, Shields, Walecka

Phyllis Holowaty Albrecht, long-time resident and civic leader in Lake Bluff, and beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on April 2 after a short illness. A 50-year resident of Lake Bluff, Albrecht was a pioneer in local government. She was elected the first woman Village President in Lake Bluff’s history (1981-85), after serving as the first woman Trustee on the Village Board (1973-81). She was instrumental in the establishment of the Lake Bluff History Museum (Vliet Center), serving as co-Chair of the fund raising committee and later Board member.
