It was a time to celebrate last Sunday, June 14, when Lake Forest residents and friends gathered to observe the ribbon-cutting ceremony that officially reopened their historic and natural treasure, Forest Park. It marked the completion of an eight-year-long journey to rehabilitate, enhance and preserve the nearly 30-acre park for future generations.

Last Sunday was a day full of festivities with trolley runs, a marching band, children’s games, scavenger hunts, ice cream and an historic commemorative photo taken of all in attendance.
