Girls Lacrosse: Antonucci’s late goal lifts Scouts to sectional final

Swarmed by a legion of Carmel defenders, Kara Antonucci careened forward for a moment, arms outstretched as she desperately tried to get a shot on net before hitting the turf. Hard.

Physical play by Carmel’s defense on the talented sophomore Lake Forest midfielder became a staple throughout the early evening on May 18 at Lake Forest, but Antonucci got the last laugh.

With just over four minutes remaining and the match tied, 6-6, Antonucci drew a penalty shot, converting for the game-winning goal.
