LB native’s ‘The Idealist’ tells the story of Internet freedom

Author Justin Peters grew up in Lake Bluff and attended Lake Forest High School. Computer prodigy Aaron Swartz grew up in Highland Park. The two never met, even though they were only five years apart. Yet Peters’ recent book, “The Idealist: Aaron Swartz and the Rise of Free Culture on the Internet,” tells Swartz’s story.

Peters related how he came to write about Swartz, whom many referred to as a prodigy, at a well-attended book-signing event at the Lake Forest Book Store on Friday, April 22.
