Not many Chinese restaurants include a fully-stocked bar with its own American-style menu.

Enter Green Panda, located at 600 Elm Place, Highland Park, and owner Brian Batt.

Batt grew up in the Glenview/Northbrook area, attended Maple School in Northbrook and graduated from Glenbrook North in 1992 and the University of Michigan in 1996. According to Batt, the corner of Elm and Second, where Green Panda has existed for the past year, has housed Chinese restaurants for 40-50 years.
