Police Reports: Massachusetts man cited for DUI after being stopped for cellphone violation

A Lake Forest Police officer stopped a Massachusetts man for disobeying a stop sign and a cellphone violation at 1:13 a.m. on April 5 at the intersection of Washington Road and Illinois Road.

Matthew Demirs, 20, of Swampscott, Mass., was cited for disobeying a stop sign, a cellphone violation and driving under the influence of alcohol. A breath sample produced by Demirs indicated a blood alcohol content of .180.
