“Virtual Stock Market.” “CSI: Forensics.” “Sports Statistics and Analysis.” “Script it! Writing for Movies and TV.”
They sound like the fun electives you wish you had time to take in high school or college, but all of the above courses are available at Deer Path Middle School in Lake Forest as part of the school’s new Extended Learning Opportunity program, a 33-minute class period that has replaced homeroom two days a week for all of the school’s fifth through eighth grade students.
