Some Lake Forest residents entered the city’s Deerpath Golf Course meeting at Dickinson Hall on Nov. 4 with the notion that the course could soon be shut down or turned into a park or walking path. City Manager Bob Kiely put the false rumor to rest, indicating that the City does not intend to close the course at this time.
“I don’t want anyone to leave this room here tonight thinking the City Council is in favor of shutting Deerpath down because there is no plan to close the course,” Kiely said. “The city council understands it is an asset to the community.”
